Yesterday, I was proud to watch as President Obama took the oath of office to begin his second term and laid out his agenda for the next four years. Thanks to the significant actions that his administration took over the past four years, our nation has seen a stronger economy and more Americans are back to work. But as we look ahead to his next term, there is more to be done, especially when it comes to our deficit and debt.
I’m pleased that President Obama highlighted the need to reduce the deficit in a balanced, responsible way, strengthen the middle class, support job creation, build a competitive workforce, invest in our infrastructure, and address other critical priorities. I look forward to working with him on this agenda and I am hopeful that both parties in Congress will come together to accomplish these priorities on behalf of families and businesses in Maryland and across our country.
