A MESSAGE FROM CONGRESSMAN STENY H. HOYER

While we are seeing a recovery in the housing market in Prince George’s County, many homeowners are still struggling. The Making Home Affordable Program is sponsoring a free Help for Homeowners community event in Landover, Maryland on Tuesday, September 17 from 1:00 -8:00 p.m. During the event, which is located at FedEx Field, homeowners will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with their mortgage company or a housing counselor approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to learn more about options to avoid foreclosure.

Prior to the event, residents can call 1-888-995-HOPE (4673) for free help preparing the following forms and documents for review at the event:

  • Request for Mortgage Assistance Form (Find at MakingHomeAffordable.gov)
  • IRS Form 4506T-EZ (Find at MakingHomeAffordable.gov)
  • Monthly mortgage statement
  • Information about any other mortgages
  • Two most recent pay stubs
  • If self-employed, the most recent quarterly or year-to-date Profit and Loss Statement
  • Documentation of income from all sources
  • Two most recent bank statements
  • Unemployment insurance letter, if applicable
